William Edward Hagman

William (Bill) Edward Hagman, 81, passed away on February 11, 2026, in Helena, Montana.
Born on October 14, 1944, in Butte, Montana. He was raised in Boulder, Montana and graduated from Jefferson High School and later pursued higher education at the University of Alaska in Anchorage, where he earned his bachelor's degree in nursing.

Following his academic achievements, Bill dedicated his professional life to nursing. He worked all over the country as a traveling nurse in a variety of specialties.

Bill was a man of many passions. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy and peace in nature through hunting, trapping, fishing, hiking, and gardening. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge, passing along skills to his friends and grandchildren. His hands were rarely idle; whether tending to plants or crafting something useful, he took pride in working with them. His adventurous spirit led him on numerous trips to Mexico over the years.

He played basketball from his youth into adulthood and enjoyed refereeing college basketball. In most recent years he enjoyed watching his youngest grandson Mace, play Hockey.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Hagman, mother, Irene Hrstich and son William Hagman III.

Bill is also survived by Monica (Dana) Geller, though formerly his daughter in-law, he never thought of her that way. For the past several years, Monica had the privilege of caring for Grandpa Bill and sharing so many heartfelt moments together. To Monica's four children, Morgan, Madison, Micah and Mace he was simply Grandpa Bill. Whenever he was brought to appointments and someone would ask him their relation, he'd grin and proudly say, "She's my everything." Grandpa Bill's warmth, humor, and love will forever be a part of our family and our hearts.

William E. Hagman had 5 children; Michael Hagman, William Hagman III, Jacques Hagman, Anthony Hagman and Dustin Hagman.

He has 9 grandkids: Krystal Hagman (2 kids), William Hagman (4 kids) born to Dustin, Morgan agman (2 kids), Madison, Micah and Mace born to Michael Hagman, Keana Hagman and Kass Redroad to Jacques Hagman and Kendal Hagman to Anthony.
