Marianne Peck December 9, 1942 - October 20, 2026
"The song is ended, but the melody lingers on." - Irving Berlin
Marianne, a beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away peacefully at her home in the presence of her son, Wade Edden, and her cherished cat, Flitters, on October 20, 2026. Born on December 9, 1942, in the vast and beautiful expanse of the Alaska Territory, Marianne was a woman whose life was filled with love, service, and a deep connection to the natural world.
The daughter of Albert C. and Beth Frazier, Marianne was preceded in death by her devoted parents, her beloved husband Bill Peck, and her dear sister Patricia Sorensen. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: sister, Bonnie Frazier, an especially close cousin and friend, Sharon Champeau, her children, James Edden, Christine Fellows (Greg), and Wade Edden; her grandchildren, Christopher Ingram (Shea), Taylor Pesanti (Willy), Whytne Fellows (Jose Francia), Gregory Fellows (Kalah), and Alyssa White (Justin), and 7 great-grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces and nephews who brought joy to her heart.
Marianne's life was marked by a spirit of nurturing and care. She pursued her passion for helping others by earning her LPN Certificate from Montana Tech in Butte, Montana, and went on to serve as a psychiatric nurse at Shodair Children's Hospital in Helena, Montana. Her dedication to her work and her patients was a testament to her compassionate nature.
In 1977, Marianne married Bill Peck, and together they created a life filled with rich experiences and shared dreams. They settled in Whitehall, Montana, where they built an outstanding Simmental herd and raised exceptional German Shepherds and American Quarter Horses. Marianne's green thumb was evident in the lush vegetable garden that helped feed her family and the vibrant trees and flowers that surrounded their home.
Marianne was known far and wide for her thoughtfulness and for the warm welcome she extended to everyone she met. Her love of music, in all its forms, added a beautiful soundtrack to her life and those around her.
In lieu of services at this time, the family will arrange a memorial service when the weather warms, allowing friends and loved ones to gather in celebration of Marianne's remarkable life. In honor of her legacy, donations may be made to Shodair Children's Hospital in Helena, Montana, a place she held dear.
Marianne's life was a testament to love, kindness, and the joy of simple pleasures. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
"Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy."
