Louie
Ochoa III
March 3, 1970 — August 18, 2026
Twin Bridges, MY
Louis (Louie) Ochoa III went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Louie was born on March 3, 1970, in Othello, WA to his father, Louis Ochoa Jr. and his mother, Lorraine Ochoa. He was also welcomed by his loving and excited big sister Renee, and his parents would later give birth to Louie's younger brother with whom he was also very close, Larry. Named after his father, Louie Ochoa III was affectionately called "Son" by his family.
Louie grew up in Othello, Washington on a farm with his parents and siblings. As a kid, he loved to hunt, fish, and hunt some more. He graduated from Othello High School in June 1988, and quickly went on to pursue a career in law enforcement. He took classes in criminal justice at Columbia Basin College, and eventually went to police academy in Washington before graduating and beginning work. Later, Louie worked in law enforcement in Northern Idaho, which also gave him the opportunity to live closer to his beloved brother, Larry, and his family. Louie loved being in the quiet mountains of Idaho where he could hike and hunt most of the year.
In 2015, Louie met Jaime (his future wife) through a mutual friend, and they immediately hit it off. He would drive in the middle of the night just to see her, and he spent time with her and her daughters, Annika and Kyann, whom he often said he loved as his own. Eventually, Jaime, Annika, and Kyann moved to Spokane with Louie and lived on a farm with cows, pigs, goats, sheep, cats, and Louie's beloved pitbull-shar pei mix, Mae. In Spokane, Jaime and Louie gave birth to Louie's first and only child, daughter Hunter Rochelle Ochoa, who was the great light of his life and who he affectionately referred to as "Princess". Louie taught Annika how to hunt, taught Kyann how to weld, and taught Hunter how to blow a duck call, among many other things. Louie and Jaime later pursued their dream of moving to the beautiful big sky of Dillon, Montana, where Louie could do all of the hunting that he could ever dream of in his free time. He was a lifelong hunter of elk, bear, deer, antelope, pheasants, duck, geese, and just about anything he could get a tag for, even boar! He was also a great cook, and he made the juiciest elk burgers and most delicious salsas. He loved old school hip hop and often carried NWA and Snoop Dogg CD's in his vehicle (he also always said "vehicle", and would always correct people if they called it a "car" or a "truck"). He loved making people laugh, and would do just about any silly dance move that Kyann and Annika asked him to when they were teenagers. He found peace in spending time with family, spending time outdoors, and working in the shop .
Louie believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is survived by Jaime Ochoa, his daughter Hunter Rochelle Ochoa, Annika and Kyann Zeigler, brother, Larry (Amber and Ashley), sister, Renee (Andrew, Michael and Rochelle), father, Louis Ochoa II, and an extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
A service to remember his life will be held on Saturday, August 29th at 10:00 am at First Presbyterian Church of Dillon. Arrangements are being provided by K&L Mortuaries.
