Jeffrey M. Peterson passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on August 4, 1960, to Jack and Lilly Peterson and farmed and ranched with Jack for several years. He raised angus cattle and quarter horses.

Later in life, he followed his dream and moved to Ennis, MT, where he made many genuine friends.

Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and playing cards. He also liked spending time in the mountains, rock hunting in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. He was an avid gardener and canner and liked to share with his family and friends. He also had a special place in his heart for his feline friend, Max.

He is survived by his mother, Lilly Peterson; sister Penny Solberg (Tim); brother Leroy Peterson and his son Taylor; brother Chuck Peterson (Anne) and their sons Gavin and Reilly; niece Abby Vaira (Troy) and their children Trig and Cedar; nephew Tanner Solberg (Korissa) and their son Kash.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack.
