Obituary

Janie was the first child born to parents, Ervin “Bill” & Dorothy McMillin in Bozeman Montana. Janie graduated from Twin Bridges High School in 1965. Janie was a colorful character to say the least. She was determined and stubborn. She loved all things purple, flowers, telling jokes, spending time with her family, her beloved cat family, all things sugary, playing bingo, playing games, dressing up in costume, crafting, baking, her cigarettes, Cheetos & let’s not forget Rip. Janie was proud of her 50+ years of selling Avon. Janie married a Canadian; Larry Wasmann and they were married for 20 years & continued to remain dear friends for the past 40 plus years. While living in Canada, she started her own business of decorating sugar cookies and cakes. “Just Janie’s”. She perfected her own recipe for her sugar cookie dough and frosting. She had contracted with the world-renowned Tyrell Dinosaur Museum in Drumheller Alberta for her brontosaurus cookies. She did all this in her home, one cookie sheet at a time and hand decorating every single cookie. Each cookie was individually packaged, and thousands were sold! While living in Oregon with her daughter and family, she became involved with the Red Hat Society and so many fond memories were made with that wonderful group of ladies. When she moved back to Montana, she joined the local Red Hat Society where more memories were made. Janie cared deeply about the departed and making sure that headstones were decorated for Memorial Day weekend. Especially those with the Montana Children Center and the Veterans. Janie followed in her dads footsteps of being part of the Twin Bridges Cemetery Association. Janie loved having her family move back to Montana & having daughter Kinnell, son-in-law Jon & one and only grandson nearby. She really enjoyed it when her great-grandson Kaden would come visit.
