In Loving Memory of Geraldine Kenny Rydeen

April 12, 1937 - July 20, 2026

Geraldine Kenny Rydeen, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, with her family lovingly surrounding her. Born on April 12, 1937, in Monroe, Louisiana, Geraldine lived a rich and beautiful life filled with faith, family, music, creativity, adventure, and love.

Geraldine graduated from Northern Louisiana College with a Bachelor of Science degree and enjoyed a career of more than 20 years as a Medical Technologist and Cytologist at Florida State University. After retiring, she and her beloved husband, Frank, moved and traveled, living in California, Dallas, Oregon, Oklahoma, and other places along the way.

Geraldine and Frank shared a love of adventure and the outdoors. They began their life together on July 5, 1963, with a honeymoon that included backpacking into the Grand Canyon, exploring New Mexico's Chaco Canyon, and touring the Southwest. In the early 2000s, they traveled to Puerto Rico, where they lived for five years and made many cherished memories. Although backpacking was not initially her passion, Geraldine embraced it alongside Frank, joining him on numerous outdoor adventures and trips to Montana to visit his family.

Geraldine had a lifelong love of the arts. She had a beautiful, trained singing voice and a deep appreciation for music. During college, she performed lead roles in theater productions, including Pygmalion and The King and I. Her creative spirit also shone through in sketching, knitting, and sewing. She especially enjoyed making her own clothing, taking pride in the care and creativity that went into each piece.

Above all, Geraldine was devoted to Jesus and her family. She was a firm believer in Christ as her Savior and lived out her faith each day. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who brought love, strength, creativity, and warmth to those around her.

Geraldine will be deeply missed by her children, Raab, Rhyan, and Karena; her five granddaughters; her sister, Tavie Kulcke; and many extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank, and her eldest son, Raaen, who passed away on July 19, 2025.

Those who knew Geraldine will remember her beautiful voice, love of music, creative spirit, adventurous heart, steadfast faith, and, most of all, the love she gave so generously to her family and friends.

She lived a life filled with love, creativity, faith, and adventure, leaving behind cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
