May 31, 1939 — August 2, 2026
It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our mother Faye Ellen (Black) Dale of Three Forks, MT passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Faye was born in Butte, MT to James Arthur Black and Virginia Louise Callahan Black Smith. Faye grew up in her beloved Montana living in numerous small towns; Trident, Toston, Harrison, Crow Creek and Three Forks. She graduated from Three Forks High School in 1957. After graduation she attended stewardess training in Minnesota. She returned to Montana and wed David Fredrick Dale in June 1964 making their home in Three Forks where they raised their four children.
Faye enjoyed gardening, spending time with friends and family, and crocheting; sharing with numerous children and grandchildren her love for it. Those who knew her best knew that "she was just a girl who loved beer".
Faye is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Edward and her grandson Dakota.
Faye is survived by her sister Lois (Paul) Fifield of Utah, daughter Shelly (James) Kunz of Kansas, son Shawn (Susie) Dale of Three Forks, son Todd Dale of Montana, daughter Kimberly (David) Melton of Arizona, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
The family will have a Celebration of Life in May, near her birthday. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Stillwater Hospice in Bozeman.
