Allen John Veltkamp (90) completed his earthly journey on September 19, 2026, at home in Three Forks with his wife of 65 years at his side.

He was born in Amsterdam, Mt to Tom H & Alice Bos Veltkamp. He joined a sister, Susan & was the first of 7 boys to follow. He was raised in the Bozeman area.

In 1950, he worked at Jersey Dairy, running the machine that turned out the paper carton of milk in Bozeman. In 1951, he started his apprenticeship at the Ford Garage in Auto Body & Fender repair. He spent 28 years perfecting this craft.

In 1961, he and Vicki Pyfer married in Helena, Mt, After an Industrial Accident, he attended Spokane Community College & in 1973, earned an AA degree in Business Management. He worked at several retail businesses, retiring in 2000 from Sandpoint Cenex Farm Store. Upon retirement, he and his wife, Vicki, moved back to Three Forks to manage the Pyfer Family ranch. After discovering Diamond Willow on the ranch & having an old building blow down, he began crafting Diamond Willow Canes & Walking sticks and making barnwood picture frames. He enjoyed selling them at Farmers Market & Flea Markets. He also worked at Belgrade Sales & Service for 10 years, taking pride in that the mowers he worked on started the time. During his "retirement" he & Vicki enjoyed traveling most of the western states with their camper. (A hidden benefit of have friends & relatives all over the West.) Allen was an active member of United Methodist Church serving in Choir for 25 years & as 'l'rustee. He also was active in Headwaters Historical Society acting as Trustee for many years.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, brothers, Bob, Roy, Doug, Don & Nelson, Sister Susan & daughter Terry Jo.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Vicki, son Richard (WA) daughter Christi (AK), 4 grandsons, adopted granddaughter, 4 great grandsons, & 2 great granddaughters. Also survived by I brother Bill of OR & Numerous nieces, nephews & "adopted" kids & grand kids.

Services will be held Friday September 25, 2026 at I I AM at K& L Mortuary, Three Forks. Viewing at IO. Reception to föllow internment in Three Forks Fairview Cemetery at UMC Annex. Memorials in lieu of flowers requested to Three Forks Methodist Church. Headwaters Historical Society, Three Forks Fire Department.
