Alan "Al" Charles Rydberg

On April 29, 2024 another warrior was called home when Alan C. Rydberg, 77, of Sheridan, MT passed away. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on February 5, 1947, the son of Bengt & Ruth (Vick) Rydberg.

He grew up and went to school in Genoa, IL. After graduating from Genoa-Kingston High School in 1965 he was drafted into the US Army in December of 1966. After two years in the Army, and serving in Vietnam, he was honorably discharged in December of 1968. Alan had a tremendous amount of pride in having served his country and was grateful to have been able to return home when many of his "brothers" did not.

Upon returning home to Genoa he started in the apprentice program to become an electrician. He moved to Harvard, Il where he lived until moving out West. He spent the majority of his working career at Wilson Electric out of Rockford, Il.

On February 17, 1996 he married Patricia. She stood strongly by his side every day thereafter. They had many adventures together from traveling to see grandkid's to the biggest adventure of all moving to Sheridan , MT in 2014 after retiring. A life long dream for both was fulfilled.

Al had two passions in life, his family and hunting. He was proud to be a Grandpa and took every opportunity to get time with his grandkids. He was grateful to have had the opportunity to hunt big game in AK, CA, ID, MT, WA and WI.

Survived by his loving wife, Patricia; Children: Alan (Paula) Rydberg, Jason (Jamie) Rydberg, Sarah (Jeff) Craig, and Jay (Andrea) Schaack; Grandchildren: Hannah, Morgan, Autumn, Charlee, Aubrey, Jackson, Camron and Jace; Sister, Susan Cunny.

Al was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a celebration of life ceremony for Alan on Saturday, June 29 th at Mountain View Chapel, 515 N Main St., Twin Bridges, MT 59749. More information will follow.
