Susanna Elise Igleheart Bogue, mother of two, loving soulmate, sister, immigration lawyer, and friend to all she met, passed away Wednesday, June 15th, 2022.
Susanna loved many things in her life, most importantly and passionately was her family. She loved needlepointing cats and beautiful landscapes. Although she wore glasses, she was an impeccable bird spotter and watcher, spending road trips with her eyes glued to the countryside for hawks and antelope. Her keen eye extended to antiques of all shapes and sizes, as Susanna adored antiquing and window shopping. Susanna’s passion for family continued into mapping extensive family trees and researching distant relatives. Susanna was a dedicated foodie, both in eating and cooking. Her green thumb was known far and wide with her plethora of house plants and flowers. Susanna listened to music ranging from the Beatles to Ed Sheeran and her love and knowledge of music was unmatched. From the Volcanoes of Hawaii to the Cliffs of Ireland, Susanna loved traveling and seeing the beauties of the world. A hot soak in a therapeutic hot spring was her favorite way to unwind after a long day of swimming, hiking, skiing, and walks aplenty.
Born in Boston, Mass, Susanna's family quickly moved to Eastern Michigan, where she attended Cranbrook Kingswood until the end of her High School career. She attended Wayne State University and Earlham College. Susanna obtained her law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law. She began her immigration law career in San Francisco and eventually opened her own law firm. Susanna helped many families and couples with their journeys to the United States and the effects of her work are felt far and wide. As a world-renowned immigration lawyer, she was known for her impeccable reputation and earned the admiration and respect from peers and judges alike. Susanna wrote a column dedicated to telling her immigration stories and thoughts about the ever-changing world.
Outside of her work, Susanna was a humble, selfless woman known for her strong convictions, extraordinary intelligence, sense of humor, and her kind and caring nature. While Susanna has passed on, her spirit will survive through her husband, Sean, of 29 years and her two sons Sean Og (Alysia) and Brendan Boo (Katelyn), her parents Addison and Deborah, her sisters Sarah (Scott) and Hilary (Giorgio), her sisters-in-law Patricia (Irving) and Maureen (Ciaran), nephews Luke, Kevin (Sarah), Shane (Donna), John (Mirzah), and Alessandro, nieces Bridgit (Clay), Candance, Leah (Randy), Cameron, and Maddie, her faithful companion Sierra, and numerous family members from around the world.
There will be a viewing on Sunday, June 26th at K&L Funeral home in Sheridan from 7 to 9pm and a service on Monday, June 27th at St. Mary’s in Laurin at 11am.
Susanna had love for the world and brought love to everyone she met and everywhere she went.
