Larry Lee Bruggom

April 4, 1940 — February 6, 2022

Larry Bruggom, 81, of Sheridan, Montana passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022.

Preceding him in death are his parents; his brother Bill; sister Jane and sister Ruth; all of Iowa. Larry is survived by his wife, Carol; his children Tracy (Frank) and Michael of Washington; granddaughters Julena and Sierra of Washington and sister Phyllis (Ray) of Iowa. Along with other beloved family, nieces, nephews and friends.

Larry was born in Iowa on the family farm April 4, 1940, to Herman and Jennie. He graduated high school and shortly after, was drafted into the US Army as a medic. After discharge, he headed to Idaho where he met his wife, Carol of 55 years. They eventually moved to Seattle after Larry was recruited during his first year of college by IBM. He was employed with IBM as a Customer Service Engineer for 24 years. Larry achieved his goal of early retirement at age 52.

Being an avid hunter and fisherman, Larry dreamed of moving to Montana. Shortly after retirement, he and his wife settled in Sheridan, Montana to enjoy the last 26 years of his life. He spent his time hunting, fishing and volunteering to help those in his community. He was also a proud member of the American Legion and NRA as well as attended both Ruby Valley and Grace Community Churches.

A devoted husband, father and grandfather, his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Larry was young at heart and loved children. It wouldn’t be unusual for a child to knock on the door and ask if Larry could play. Most people will remember Larry for his sense of humor. He loved to joke with everyone he met and make them laugh. There’s no doubt that he is trying to get the Lord to buy him a cup of coffee and maple donut up there in Heaven.

Larry will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all those who knew him. Life will not be the same without his joking around and great hugs!
