Jack J Mccormick

October 31, 1951 — September 16, 2022

Jack J. McCormick, 70, died unexpectedly September 16th, 2022 at his home in Virginia City, Montana.

He was born October 31st, 1951 in Gary, Indiana to his parents, Jack C. and Dona McCormick. He was

the oldest of five children.

Jack served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. While in Vietnam, his first and only child, Shawn

was born. Not long after, he moved to Colorado where he fell in love with the mountains. He returned

to Indiana where he worked as a project manager for the Indiana Laborers Union for many years. He

then fulfilled his dream of moving back out West where he met and married his true love Jane (Annie)

Jorgensen on April 20th, 2007. After a brief retirement, Jack and Annie started an art gallery in Virginia

City. He then was hired as Director of Parks and Recreation for the town he loved (VC). He was very

involved in his community even serving on the Virginia City Chamber of Commerce.

Jack was given many akas throughout his life, such as Jackey Blue, Madd Gypsy Jack Jr. which later

became Madd Jack. Jack was a “rambler, gambler and a sweet talkin’ ladies man.” His life was full of

motorcycles, friends and adventures. Jack was a frequent visitor to Virginia City since the Ford Bovey

days of the 1970s where he formed some of his longest friendships. He also had the opportunity to be a

western model for renowned photographer David Yarrow during which he made many friends from

around the world. The stories never ended. He looked forward to taking his wife, Annie, for there new

adventure of living in Yucatan, Mexico.

Jack is preceded in death by his father, Jack (Mac) McCormick and mother, Dona (Dolly) Harrison

McCormick. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Danny L. and Gary A.


Surviving in addition to his wife, Jane (Annie) Jorgensen is his son, Shawn J. McCormick

(Amber), and his step-daughter, Kelly Allison Venetucci (Jake), six grandsons, Jakkob, Luke, Graven,

Dragen, Justin, Zander, and granddaughter, October, three great granddaughters, Sidda, Freyja, Adella,

two sisters, Debbie (Les) Slatton and Maureen (Drew) Adams, and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and

cousins that loved him dearly.

Celebration of Jack’s life will held in Virginia City, Mt on Sunday, October 30th  2022 at 4 p.m. at the

Pioneer Bar located on Hwy. 287.
